What is a load bank?
A Generator Test Set, also known as a generator tester, a load bank or a dummy load, provides a fully controllable load that mimics the real load that the generator would see in normal operation. Its use allows the performance of both the engine and generator to be evaluated. It is also useful for restoring the full capacity to diesel powered generators by burning off the fuel deposits that have collected while operating under light loads. A third use is that of a UPS tester.
Now you can be sure that your generators and alternators are providing the output they should, and at the proper voltage and frequency.
Generators up to 30KW can be loaded to full capacity. The generator test set combines two load banks in one, providing a 0-250A (0-30,000 watt) load at 120V, or 0-125A (0-30,000 watt) load at 240V.
The Generator Test Set is comparable with those offered by Avtron, Power Systems and Simplex, but at a much lower cost!

Reduce Wet Stacking in Diesel Powered Generators
Diesel-driven units are subject to particular malady known as "Wet Stacking" or "Slobbering" that stems from operation under no-load or light-load conditions. Such operations cause fuel deposits to collect on the combustion chamber, injector nozzles, piston rings, turbocharger and exhaust system. The result is diminished engine output capacity. Fully loading the generator for a time period will clear this condition.

The following adapters allow you to mate the test set with receptacles commonly found on portable generators. Most of the adapters connect to the test set through the master adapter (40608). This saves you the cost of larger 50 amp connectors on every adapter. A good selection for most application would include the 40608, 40611,40612 and 40613.
